We are a community school maintained by the Education Department of Portsmouth City Council.

At Gatcombe Park Primary school we aim to provide a happy, caring and supportive learning environment sensitive to the needs of all its members. We aim to foster mutual social and morally acceptable behaviour, which enables children to enjoy learning and to achieve all they can. We have high expectations and take pride in our achievements and ourselves. In May 2003 we were awarded a schools achievement award by the DfES.

The school is designed on open plan lines and is built around our hall.

School Hall	School Library

We use the hall for PE, dance, drama and assemblies and as a dining room at lunchtimes. We also have a large music/computer room and an excellent library.

The schools performance data shows we compare very favourably with similar schools.
