What is a Home-School Agreement?
A home-school agreement sets out the reponsibilities of the school, parents and children as they work together in partnership for the benefit of all who are associated with the school community.
This home-school agreement has been developed by parents, staff and members of the School Council at Gatcombe Park Primary School as part of our commitment to work together.

| The School Promise |
We promise:
- to provide an environment which is as secure and stable as possible
- to offer a broad and balanced learning programme
- to provide good standards of teaching
- to promote high expectations of children's learning
- to maintain regular contact with parents and carers
- to ensure high expectations of behaviour
- to work in partnership with parents and children to celebrate success and resolve any difficulties
- to provide homework when appropriate

| The Parent Promise |
I will ensure that:
- my child attends school regularly, is on time and is properly equipped
- I encourage a positive attitude to schoolwork, activities and home learning
- I support my child's learning and discuss progress with the school
- I support the school's policies and guidelines for positive behaviour
- I encourage my child to respect other people and the school's environment
- I notify the school of any absences in writing and if possible holidays are taken out of term and never during the SATs period in May
- I deal at home with any health or medical problems (e.g. nits, virus, colds, sickness)

- to work hard and do my best
- to follow the school rules
- to be kind to others
- never to be afraid to talk to an adult about any problem
- to respect the school building, grounds and equipment
